Our History

CAVAD is the oldest Vietnamese dental organization in the United States, founded in 1983 by Dr. Lê Trọng Phong.

The California Association of Vietnamese American Dentists (CAVAD) is a nonprofit professional organization dedicated to continuing education, mentorship, professional connection, cultural heritage, and community service. Our mission is to bring dentists together to learn, support one another, and give back to the communities we serve.

After a period of limited activity, CAVAD is entering a revitalized chapter with renewed leadership, fresh energy, and a continued commitment to its founding mission. We are reconnecting our dental community through educational programs, mentorship, volunteer service, and opportunities for colleagues to build lasting professional relationships.

As we move forward, we honor the vision and dedication of the leaders who built CAVAD while inspiring and supporting the next generation of dentists. Together, we are preserving our legacy while building a vibrant future rooted in education, collaboration, and service.

Our Mission

CAVAD is dedicated to providing quality continuing education, fostering mentorship, strengthening professional connections, preserving our Vietnamese heritage, and giving back to our communities. We welcome dentists of all backgrounds who share these values.
